Full Name: Boldt Swifthale
Species: Beorc
Class: Archer
Age: 22
Hair Color: Purple
Eye Color: Dark Green
Appearance: Boldt is 5’6”. She has an athletic build from years of aerobic and archery training. Her muscles are well-defined from that rigorous training. Her face is thin but slightly rounded. She wears a yellow headband to keep her hair back. She typically wears orange shirts with brown leggings. She also wears leather bracers and leather coverings on the top of her feet. She refuses to wear shoes. Boldt carries her bows and quiver on her back.
History: Boldt was the disappointment of a daughter for two master archers, Marcis and Cathrine. With the withdrawal of Daein into itself, plus the building up of the military, Marcis and Cathrine were trainers of archers for the military. The two were good enough to gain a small lordship and land of their own. They had tried for years to conceive but were very unsuccessful until the miracle birth of Boldt and her twin brother, Daart. Everyone who knew the couple had been praying to Asheruna that it would be a boy. Everyone expected a child prodigy from these two. Their prayers were answered. With the birth of two children, the couple was counted as blessed by the Goddess herself. The two were obviously special. With that thought in their minds, Marcis and Cathrine planned to raise the archers the land had ever seen. Training for Boldt and Daart began before they could even walk. From the time each could stand on their own, there was a bow in their hands.
Boldt showed little promise though. She was a little clumsy and easily distracted. However, she was very dedicated. She loved archery. She made sure she completed her studies, training, whatever her parents asked of her. It was never enough though. No matter how hard she tried, she could never meet the standards her parents expected. Daart excelled though. He was everything Boldt wasn’t in archery. Still her parents desperately tried to teach her. And she learned at the rate of a slightly above average archer. Her brother, however, was outstanding. No shot was too difficult. Stationary, moving, armored, mounted: he could hit everything with deadly accuracy and results. Boldt and Daart’s daily routines of stretching, exercises, breathe training, archery practice, war studies and court courtesy classes followed by more archery practice continued until they were sixteen.
On their sixteenth birthday, each received a special gift. Daart was given a silver bow. The accuracy and power was incredible. Boldt was given a beautiful gown. She was devastated. Her parents had given up on her as an archer. Now she was supposed to be the beautiful daughter who would find a good man. Her brother continued his archery studies while she began studying finer things. Posture, balls, and fancy dinners: these became her new focus. Dresses, not shirt and pants, became her outfits. Dutifully she did as she was told. Her only relief was the required horseback riding. She loved the rush of air. Her horse, Asura, is an absolute monster. He is solid black. Measuring six feet tall at the shoulder, he is difficult to mount. Much practice has allowed Boldt to execute the move efficiently, though with some difficulty. Her parents consider the horse as her protector, and he seems to take it seriously. Power and speed are a forte of Asura. Boldt is unable to shoot at all while on Asura. She just lets him run.
By the time the twins were twenty, Boldt had become a sought after female amongst the Daien aristocracy although completely unknown outside the country. Daart was a premier archer of the Daien military and took over his parents’ position as trainer. Frustration at their difference of fates grew daily for Boldt. She wanted more out of her life than just becoming another pretty woman. She decided to run away from home, to make her way in the world on her own. During the night, she snuck out with several supplies and took Asura. Fleeing south, she made her way into Begnion.
There she decided to work as a bounty hunter. Begnion was big enough that there were always problems in the bigger cities. The first two years were the hardest. She was stolen from, cheated, nearly killed, nearly kidnapped and sold into slavery. Still, Boldt was determined to live life on her own. Her bow skills were sadly lacking but she is just starting to get the feel for it once more. She has made several successful captures and is ready to pick up some decent jobs other than catching the town thief. She is ready to prove herself in the world.
